Dance

Areas of Focus

  • Learn warm-ups, stretch-techniques, balance, extensions and proper form.
  • Develop a multifaceted physicality through training in dance techniques.
  • Apply a variety of value systems, aesthetics, and approaches to performing.
  • Working on new dance skills and combinations.
  • Our curriculum is designed to introduce and explore new genres of dance ranging from ballet and jazz to hip hop during each session.

Goal

In our supportive and caring environment, campers with a strong interest in dance are empowered to try new things and push themselves to grow and improve in dance beyond a typical dance class. Campers are encouraged to dance motivated by their own goals, whether they want to focus on specific skills with an eye on their next competition or simply grow in their love of dance as recreation and creative expression.

Ceramics/Jewelry Making

Director: Lisa Kops

Goal

To allow each camper’s creative spirit to flourish while creating a beautiful challah board that their families will be able to use every shabbos for years to come.

Gymnastics

Goal

To work together to create a routine that will be performed in front of the whole camp at the gymnastics show, while developing a multitude of gymnastics skills

Goal

Baking

To develop techniques that allow campers to master baking skills that will allow them to be able to bake tasty desserts for their families when they come home from camp.

Water-Skiing

Goal

Not only to teach the how to water-ski, but to show them how crucial it is to get back on your feet in life, no matter how many times you might get knocked down.

Fishing

Mastery over the various steps of fishing including:

  • Connecting the hook
  • Preparing the proper line needed
  • How to cast one’s line
  • How to cook one’s caught fish

Goal

To teach campers everything they need to prepare a delicious fishy meal, from start to finish, including catching and cooking one’s fish.

Photography

Director: Raffi Spitzer

Areas of Focus

  • Mechanics of the camera
  • Learning how to use different lenses, apertures, etc. in order to capture the perfect shot
  • Photos in Nature
  • How to pick the perfect background
  • Editing our photos with Photoshop
  • Creating slideshows with the pictures we take

Goal

To develop skills that will allow us to capture picturesque photos using the new techniques learned. The skills we will develop will last a lifetime.

Videography

Director: Mike Sinnreich

Areas of Focus

  • Properly using a tripod
  • Mechanics of the camera
  • How to find the best angle
  • Creating a montage, picking the perfect music
  • How to cut videos
  • Theme-based videos culminating with an individual video montage for each camper

Goal

To give campers the tools necessary to take high-quality videos while building skills to use a camera in a multitude of ways. Campers taking this elective will leave the summer feeling confident using top-notch cameras.

Paintball

  • Teamwork- working together in team based games
  • How to hide
  • Knowing when to attack
  • Camouflage Techniques
  • Learn how to extract a hostage by simulating a real hostage situation
  • Training exercises used in the IDF

Goal

To build camaraderie with fellow campers through training exercises real units use to build bonds that last a lifetime. Campers will also become intimately familiar with how to use the paintball gun and gain an edge on the paintball course.

Culinary
